The Millennium and the End of Sin

Overview

Doctrine of Restoration (End Times)

The millennium is the thousand-year reign of Christ with His saints in heaven between the first and second resurrections.

During this time the wicked dead will be judged; the earth will be utterly desolate, without living human inhabitants, but occupied by Satan and his angels.

At its close Christ with His saints and the Holy City will descend from heaven to earth. The unrighteous dead will then be resurrected, and with Satan and his angels will surround the city; but fire from God will consume them and cleanse the earth.

The universe will thus be freed of sin and sinners forever.

Requirements

1. Know where the people saved by Jesus will go after His second coming. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; John 14:2-3)

2. Explain what will happen to the wicked (those who rejected salvation) at the time of Jesus’s return. (Revelation 6:15-17; Revelation 20:5)

3. Understand what the condition of the Earth will be like during the thousand-year period that begins after Jesus’s return. (Jeremiah 4:23-25)

4. Study what the Bible says the saved will do during the millennium. (Revelation 20:4-6; 1 Corinthians 6:2-3)

5. Understand how the great conflict between good and evil will end, and what the final destiny of Satan and sin will be. (Revelation 21:2, 8; 20:5, 7-15)

6. Memorize and recite Revelation 20:6.

7. Share with a friend what the end of sin will be like and what will happen during the millennium described in Revelation 20.
