Bible Discovery III - Advanced
Overview
This honor fulfills the “Spiritual Experiences” requirements for the General Conference Explorer Achievement Class. It covers the stories and truths told about the Old Testament Prophets and Kings. The books of the Bible covered include: 1-2 Samuel, 1-2 Kings, 1-2 Chronicles, and the major and minor prophets. The wisdom literature books are covered in other honors.

- 8. The Great Controversy
- 11. Growing in Christ
- 18. The Gift of Prophecy
- 19. The Law of God
- 21. Stewardship
- 22. Christian Behavior
Requirements
1. Earn the Bible Discovery III honor.
2. Compare and contrast with a graphical chart the choices of King Saul and King David. After developing the chart, evaluate what made King David a “man after God’s own heart” whereas King Saul died without a relationship with God. Share your discoveries with another.
3. Read, summarize, and discuss any two chapters in the book Prophets and Kings by Ellen White. Apply the principles found in the story to a modern situation through a sketch, comic strip, poster, or other visual media (this may be done as a group).

- b. “Solomon’s Repentance” chapter 5
- c. “Elijah the Tishbite” chapter 9
- d. “Carmel” chapter 11
- e. “The Call of Elisha” chapter 17
- f. “Ninevah, That Great City” chapter 22
- g. “Hezekiah” chapter 28
