Camporee Safety

Overview

This honor was used in the 5th South American Division camporee in 2019. The event was so big, it had to be divided into two weeks and clubs could only sign up for one of those weeks. With so many Pathfinders present, this honor was created to teach safety and avoid danger at such a large event.

Requirements

1. List at least five situations involving risk and danger of accidents in the camporee.

2. Define accident prevention.

3. Memorize the prevention tips from the following acrostic:

  • S – Be careful
  • E – Always be accompanied by the unit
  • G – Keep a bottle of water with you
  • U – Use a hat, sunscreen and repellent
  • R – Respect others
  • O – Observe any dangers

4. Name two ways in which you can be a prevention agent for a safe camporee.
