Plastic Canvas - Advanced: Answer Key

1. Earn the Plastic Canvas honor.

For tips and instruction see AY Honor Plastic Canvas.

2. Name six (6) stitches (not previously used in Plastic Canvas, Basic) and make a two-inch sample of each.

We refer you back to the AY Honor Plastic Canvas honor for a list of stitches you might use. Like the 1 inch samples in the basic honor, we suggest a 2 inch square sample as this will train the Pathfinder to correctly use the stitches to fill in an area.

3. Use four (4) of these stitches to design your own round Plastic Canvas basket. The basket should have a handle and a cover. Be as creative as possible.

The basket might be a nice place to store your sewing supplies. There are many books and websites on plastic canvas with patterns you can use for inspiration. Here are some sites to get you started.

4. Make a six-piece coaster set with a matching coaster box for your kitchen.

The coasters and box could be square, round, star or heart shaped, or whatever you like. All these shapes can be bought ready made.

5. Make an item of your choice. Use your imagination, be creative and moreover, have fun!

There are books on plastic canvas you can look through for ideas, or search the internet.
