Road to Bethlehem
Overview
Road to Bethlehem is a free theatrical presentation for the community. It brings to life the true story of the meaning of Christmas by telling about the birth of Jesus. You will develop a deeper understanding of the birth of Jesus and will be able to take part in the running of this program through advertising, set up/pack up and participation as an actor, crew or extra. You will be able to interact with the community and help lead others to Christ.
Requirements
1. Read Luke 1:26-38; 2:1-21; Matt. 1:16-25; 2:1-12.
2. Find three prophecies of Jesus’ birth in the Old Testament.
3. Discuss as a group or with an adult ways to promote the Road to Bethlehem program to your community.
4. During the week before Road to Bethlehem, read Desire of Ages chapters 3, 4 and 5 for your devotional time and pray that the program will be a witness in your community.
5. Prepare a diagram OR take a photo showing the layout of the Road to Bethlehem set that you were involved with.
6. Design and make an essential part of a costume or a part of the set for Road to Bethlehem OR wear a Road to Bethlehem costume to dress appropriately for the times/dress applicable for your role in Road to Bethlehem.
7. Participate in either the set-up or pack-away of Road to Bethlehem.
8. Participate in the Road to Bethlehem presentation as an actor, extra or crew.
9. Write a 200-word essay or give a 2-minute talk on your experience of being involved in Road to Bethlehem, including its impact on your spiritual journey and how it can lead others to Christ.
