Overview
This honor provides a comprehensive overview of the Solar System—covering its structure, planets, smaller celestial bodies, and exploration history—while also connecting scientific understanding with a sense of wonder and faith.
Requirements
1. What is the Solar System?
2. How have people imagined the Solar System throughout history?
3. Describe the Sun.
4. Which planets are belong to the terrestrial group?
5. Which planets are classified as gas giants?
6. For each planet, answer the following questions:
- a. Size and mass of the planet
- b. Composition and surface of the planet
- c. Atmosphere and temperature of the planet
- d. History of the study and exploration of the planet
7. Describe the asteroid belt in the Solar System.
8. Describe other objects in the Solar System:
- a. Comets
- b. Meteors and meteorites
- c. Dwarf planets
- d. Kuiper Belt and Oort Cloud
9. Memorize Job 26:7 and Ecclesiastes 1:5.
