Jesus III - His Miracles
Overview
Explorer class; part of the Jesus Collection set forth by the General Conference as a part of their new Pathfinder Curriculum.
Requirements
1. What is a Biblical definition of “miracle”? Explain with your words what a miracle is.
2. Give an example of a miracle of Jesus that falls into each of the following categories:
- a. Miracle of Healing/Resurrection
- b. Miracle of Supply
- c. Miracle over nature
- d. Miracle over demonic powers
3. Read about one of the miracles of Jesus, such as one included in the list below (if with a group, break into smaller groups so as to explore more miracles). Explain why you think this miracle story was recorded in the Bible. Find the location the miracle took place on a Biblical map of the time period.
- a. Water to wine (John 2:1-12)
- b. Jesus calms a storm and restores two demon possessed men (Matthew 8:23-34)
- c. Feeding the 5,000 and walks on water (Mark 6:30-56)
- d. Raising Lazarus (John 11:1-43)
- e. Heals a man with leprosy and a paralyzed man (Luke 5:12-26)
4. Choose two additional miracles of Jesus, other than those already experienced in this honor, to illustrate creatively (if working with a group, choose different scenes to illustrate):

- Raising of Lazarus (John 11)
- Healing a leper (Matthew 8:1-3; Mark 1:40-42)
- Healing a paralytic (Matthew 9:1-8; Mark 2:1-12; Luke 5:18-26)
- Walking on water (Matthew 14:22-33; Mark 6:45-52; John 6:16-21)
- Cana wedding (John 2:1-12)
- Raising the widow’s son (Luke 7:11-17)
- Calming the stormy sea (Matthew 8:23-27; Mark 4:35-41; Luke 8:22-25)
- Healing a blind man (Mark 8:22-26)
5. Share with your friends in the Club a miracle story. You may collect this story in a number of ways:
- a. Your experience
- b. Personal story from your family or family history
- c. Prayer meeting
- d. Interview someone who has had their prayers answered
- e. From a book (only if no other method works)
6. Make a list of three miracles from the Bible (Old or New Testament) in a book other than a gospel. Tell a group why these three miracles are important to you.
