Jesus III - His Miracles: Answer Key

1. What is a Biblical definition of “miracle”? Explain with your words what a miracle is.

2. Give an example of a miracle of Jesus that falls into each of the following categories:

2a. Miracle of Healing/Resurrection

2b. Miracle of Supply

2c. Miracle over nature

2d. Miracle over demonic powers

3. Read about one of the miracles of Jesus, such as one included in the list below (if with a group, break into smaller groups so as to explore more miracles). Explain why you think this miracle story was recorded in the Bible. Find the location the miracle took place on a Biblical map of the time period.

3a. Water to wine (John 2:1-12)

3b. Jesus calms a storm and restores two demon possessed men (Matthew 8:23-34)

3c. Feeding the 5,000 and walks on water (Mark 6:30-56)

3d. Raising Lazarus (John 11:1-43)

3e. Heals a man with leprosy and a paralyzed man (Luke 5:12-26)

4. Choose two additional miracles of Jesus, other than those already experienced in this honor, to illustrate creatively (if working with a group, choose different scenes to illustrate):

  • Written and performed skit
  • Reader’s theater
  • Song (song service or write your own)
  • Essay
  • Diorama (and tell the story)
  • Photo essay (and tell the story)
  • Art project (and tell the story)

Selections may include:

5. Share with your friends in the Club a miracle story. You may collect this story in a number of ways:

5a. Your experience

5b. Personal story from your family or family history

5c. Prayer meeting

5d. Interview someone who has had their prayers answered

5e. From a book (only if no other method works)

6. Make a list of three miracles from the Bible (Old or New Testament) in a book other than a gospel. Tell a group why these three miracles are important to you.
